House Strips Abortion from ObamaCare

The U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to pass the Protect Life Act, H.R. 358, by a vote of 251 to 172 – including the support of 15 Democrats. This bipartisan bill will strip abortion funding and abortion related mandates from ObamaCare.

This is a major victory in the fight to undo the pro-abortion aspects of ObamaCare, which has essentially become a bailout for the abortion industry since its passage. By a bipartisan vote of 248 to 173, the House moved to proceed to legislation that will rescue taxpayers who are forced to underwrite groups like Planned Parenthood as part of ObamaCare. Under Reps. Joe Pitts (R-PA) and Dan Lipinski's (D-IL) Protect Life Act, the House zapped the money for abortion in the new health care law, including “government-related exchanges, community health centers, OPM administered plans, or any other program....” For House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), this was about keeping the Republicans' promises. "[H.R. 358] was a part of our Pledge to America ... During the debate over ObamaCare, the President promised that no taxpayer dollars would be used to pay for abortions under the bill," he said. "Unfortunately, this is not the way things played out." Unlike the ObamaCare executive order, which does absolutely nothing to end the flow of abortion money, this bill actually carries the weight of law. And if it passes, America will stop providing a nice multi-million dollar cushion for the culture of death. It would also block a pro-abortion President like Obama from reaching into the medical community and using people's moral convictions against them. (Report by: Family Research Council, ACLJ)

Congress Investigating Planned Parenthood

A first in history, the House of Representatives is planning hearings to investigate the activities of Planned Parenthood. Two weeks ago, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R.-FL), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Investigations, wrote Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) requesting documents, some over a decade old, to help determine whether PPFA was in any way using federal for abortions and to account for the billions in suspected fraud and waste. In 2008, $363 million in state and federal dollars went to help support the largest abortion provider in America, with a budget of over $1 billion and a CEO with annual pay and benefits of around $1 million. Recent exposes have shown Planned Parenthood affiliate employees encouraging prostitution, human trafficking, underage abortion without parental consent, failing to report instances of rape and statutory rape, and other crimes. A number of states have decided to end their support for the abortion giant, but the Obama administration has actually stepped in to give more federal dollars to make up the difference. So the federal dollars flow on, without any real accountability. Predictably, pro-abortion Democrat operatives are calling this a "witch hunt" and a "vendetta." (Human Events/Oct. 2011)

Voices from the Womb” makes Debut at U.S. Capitol

For the first time in history the "voice" of pre-born children was loudly heard in our nation's Capitol!  On October 13, 2011, "Voices from the Womb" kicked off their national campaign in the Congressional Auditorium at the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Everyone who has had a message, who has called for justice and change has made their way to the hallowed ground of the U.S. Capitol and let their voice be heard. However, there is one group whose “own” voice has never been heard in Washington, D.C. even though their issue has generated millions of marchers and demonstrators over the years on both sides of their issue.

That group whose voice has never been heard are the innocent children inside their mother’s womb. However, for the first time in history the “voice” of these children was loudly heard in our nation’s capital!

All 535 members were personally invited to witness live ultrasounds on women who are in their first, second and third trimester of pregnancy. For the first time, the voices of the pre-born children of America were heard in the United States Capitol!

Through the power of this amazing “window to the womb” all pro-choice politics and arguments will melt away. Our nation’s leaders were able to see through the “window to the womb” the humanity of the child and the fact that we must do all that we can to protect the weakest members of our society and stand for human rights.

The U.S. Capitol was the first stop for the “Voices from the Womb” national tour showing ultrasounds in schools, churches, state capitals, parks and legislative hearings. The message and goals are clear: listen to these “voices from the womb” and let us all work together to end the violence of abortion and embrace justice for all.

How should we pray?

It is the will of God that in prayer we should lift up holy hands: pure from the pollution of sin, washed in the fountain opened for sin and uncleanness (Psalm 26:6). We must pray in charity: Without wrath, malice, or anger at any person. We must pray in faith without doubting (James 1:6), and without disputing.

Prayer is not to be confined to any one particular house of prayer. Scripture says men must pray every where (John 4:21).

How do we pray every where?

We must pray in our closets, pray within our families, pray at our meals, pray when we are traveling, and pray in the solemn assemblies.

China: 400 Million Fewer People Because of One-Child Policy

 by Steven Ertelt | LifeNews.com | 9/20/11 6:24 PM

During a members-only meeting today with members of Congress at the Capital, a former health secretary in the Chinese government admitted the one-child policy has cost the nation as many as 400 million people.

That figure includes not only people who were likely not born because of the promotion of birth control and contraception, but the deaths of unborn children in abortions, forced abortions and infanticides. China sees as many as 37,000 abortions a day under the population control policy.

In a Budget Committee members-only meeting on Tuesday, Congressman Tim Huelskamp, a pro-life Kansas Republican, asked Gao Qiang, who served for two years as the Party Secretary for the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China, about the country’s population control policy. Through an interpreter, Gao told members in attendance that the population of China has 400 million fewer people that had the coercive family planning policy not been in place.

Gao also pointed out that China has lost more people than the overall population of the United States, estimated at 312 million. “I was shocked to hear a Chinese official admit how many people have been lost as a result of the country’s population control policy,” Congressman Huelskamp said. “The fact that this policy has resulted in the loss of more people than the overall population of the United States is an eye-opening figure.” Read entire article:http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/20/china-400-million-fewer-people-because-of-one-child-policy/

Planned Parenthood: 38.4% of Its Income Comes From Abortions

by Steven Ertelt | LifeNews.com | 9/20/11 11:41 AM

Although Planned Parenthood officials like to talk about how a small percentage of the “services” it provides women are abortion-related, an analysis from Live Action indicates 38.4 percent of its income is derived from abortions.

Live Action spokesman David Schmidt says Planned Parenthood is misleading the public when it talks about how important and influential its abortion business is to its overall bottom line.

Planned Parenthood likes to talk about how only 3% of their services are abortion,” he writes at the Live Action blog. “A simple example of how they come to this calculation would be Planned Parenthood aborting 3 children and giving out 97 condoms. They would say that out of 100 services, 3 or 3% were abortion when in reality the significance and cost of the 3 abortions is much higher than 3% of their efforts.”

Planned Parenthood’s accounting of 3% is misleading and not consistent with the rest of the business world,” Schmidt continued.

In college I interned at the airline manufacturer Boeing, which sells a lot of airplanes and also a lot of spare parts for those airplanes. For every airplane they sold for tens of millions of dollars, they also sold lots of spare parts for as little as 25 cents. By looking at TOTAL number of sales, you could conclude that 1% of their business was selling airplanes and 99% was spare parts, which is totally ridiculous,” he explained. “The reality was the value of the airplanes sales was close to 99% of their business and the spare parts 1%. Looking at the cost and effort of what is being offered is a much more accurate way to measure.”

Scientists Appeal to Stop Obama’s Embryonic Stem Cell Funding

by Steven Ertelt | LifeNews.com | 9/20/11 11:05 AM

Two adult stem cell researchers have filed an appeal in their lawsuit seeking to stop President Barack Obama from forcing taxpayers to spend tens of millions of dollars on embryonic stem cell research that destroys human lives.

In July, a federal judge dismissed one of the lawsuits filed against President Barack Obama’s executive order forcing taxpayers to finance embryonic stem cell research that has yet to help any patients.

Last August, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth ruled that Obama executive order likely violates that law against federal funding of embryo destruction. But, in April, a federal appeals court ruled Obama can force taxpayers to fund embryonic stem cell research that has never helped any patients.

Responding to that decision, Judge Lamberth dismissed the lawsuit Boston adult stem cell researcher James Shirley filed saying the decision discriminates against researchers who don’t use embryonic stem cells. Lamberth said he is bound to follow the appeals court decision and had no choice but to dismiss the lawsuit.

While again affirming the standing of adult stem cell researchers to challenge these regulations, Judge Lamberth dismissed the case saying that it had no choice under the “mandate rule” but to follow the Court of Appeal’s April 29 ruling that Congress’ ban on human embryonic research was written in a sufficiently “ambiguous” fashion to ban the use of federal funds that risked the “injury or death” of human embryos, but not the use of federal funds to do research on the embryonic stem cells that were derived from such injury or destruction.

OVERVIEW

Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking

Human Trafficking of Women and Children

"Sexual Trafficking is the movement of women and children, within national or across international borders, for the purposes of prostitution or other forms of commercial sexual exploitation. It includes the recruitment, transportation, harboring, transfer, or sale of women and children for these purposes.

Initiative Against Sexual Trafficking

The Preventing Abuse Conferences educate the public and assist in broadening public awareness and build bigger and stronger coalitions between the public and front line organizations, governmental agencies and law enforcement. Working together, these groups have the potential to effectively stop the humiliation, degradation and abuse of women and children trafficked and kidnapped for commercial sexual exploitation.

Child Abduction

The conferences focus on educating the attendees on ways to help protect children. Steps assisting prevention. What to do if the child is abducted and what steps to take in the restoration process as well as other insightful and helpful points of information. Additionally this information will be helpful for parents, families and neighbors to learn the warning signs of a potential predator.

America Affected, America in Danger

Prior to entering WWII most Americans were isolationist and did not want to get involved because the war didn't affect them. When the war came to Pearl Harbor, their attitude changed. Our conferences provide earthshaking and awakening information showing how Americans are affected by trafficking, child abduction, Internet. Right here at home and what can be done to protect the victims and deal with the perpetrators.

Spread of Disease

"...the sex slaves are a high-risk group for HIV infection..." The Weekly Standard by Donna M Hughes,

Note: Who then are they infecting and who are those people infecting? What are the social, economic, healthcare costs as well as the exponential human suffering?

Terrorism

"...Revenues from pornographic sites go towards financing extremists and terrorist groups..."  Dimitriy Chepugov, Head of Moscow's Interior Ministry Department

"The threat of trafficking does run through Al Qaeda's tapestry of terror. Since the advent of the war in Afghanistan reports have indicated that the Taliban engaged in open abduction of women and girls..."

Impact on America

  1. The conferences endeavor to demonstrate how the problems of abduction and trafficking of women and children have a personal, local, state and national and personal impact.

  2. Unfortunately, many believe if it isn't affecting them they don't need to be involved. They may change their mind after attending the conference.

  3. Problems regarding child kidnapping and human trafficking of women and children are relative abstracts to the general public because there doesn't seem to be a relevant connection.

  4. Most people feel that when a child is kidnapped it's the parent's problem. Most people, while sympathetic, think "it doesn't affect me".

  5. One focus of the conferences is to show the impact and danger of human trafficking of women and children affects more than the direct victim(s).

The root of the problem is the demand. The conferences endeavor to identify the demand for kidnapped and trafficked women and children. How it can be dealt with.

Areas to be addressed relating to the demand:

  • Demographics of the customers and the perpetrators

  • What is the fuel of the kidnap and trafficking problem?

  • What role does the popular culture have?

  • How the entertainment industry can assist?

  • What role does pornography (hard-core and "soft-core") play?

  • The role of terrorism.

  • The impact of the Internet.

Legislative

The state of legislation (federal, state, local) and its effectiveness in addressing the problems of child abduction and human trafficking and what corrections and/or improvements can be done. The impact grass roots groups and individuals can have legislatively.

Law Enforcement

What is effective and how can it be made more effective? What does law enforcement lack and how can it be provided? How the public can help.

Child Abduction Prevention:

What steps can be taken by parents, friends, neighbors, community, city, state, nation, that can help prevent abduction? We want to "connect the dots" between individuals, the public, law enforcement and grass roots organizations on the front lines in the struggle against abduction.

What steps can be taken with children to help protect them from being abducted.

What obstructions are there to prevent and protect from abduction and trafficking. How best to deal with the problem.

How can the public help prevent and protect against abduction.

What are the warning signs of possible predator and what to do about them?

Child Abduction, Recruitment and Coercion for Sexual Exploitation Every Child is At Risk" ...Revenues from pornographic sites go towards financing extremists and terrorists groups..."

UNICEF....“Three of the worst crimes committed against a child are rape, molestation and...inaction."

Tony Nassif, Author and President of the Cedars Cultural and Educational Foundation says:   "The majority of child victims are between the ages of 13 and 17, but there are documented cases of babies as young as 6 months old used in pornographic videos..."

Paul and Lisa Program...."A gang in ...California, kidnapped and enslaved girls between the ages of 11 and 14 for purposes of prostitution and trafficked them across state lines..."
